First Aid & CPR Costs Covered Through the Ontario ECE Grant Program

Students enrolled in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program are often required to complete a First Aid and CPR certification as part of their placement requirements. The Ontario ECE Grant Program is pleased to support eligible students by covering the cost of First Aid and CPR training, provided specific conditions are met.

What You Need to Know

To qualify for First Aid and CPR reimbursement through the Ontario ECE Grant Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be approved for an Ontario ECE Education Grant
Reimbursement is only available to applicants who have been formally approved for education funding through the program.

  • The First Aid & CPR course must be taken within your funding contract dates
Courses completed outside of your approved funding period are not eligible for reimbursement.

  • Proof of registration and payment is required at the time of application
When applying, students must submit documentation showing they are registered for the course and have paid the associated fees.

  • The course must be completed by the end of the funded semester
First Aid and CPR training must be successfully completed within the same semester covered by your funding agreement.

  • Proof of course completion must be submitted
Once the course is completed, students are required to provide a valid certificate or proof of completion to finalize reimbursement.

Why This Matters

First Aid and CPR certification is an essential requirement for placement in early learning environments. By covering these costs, the Ontario ECE Grant Program helps reduce financial barriers and supports students in successfully completing their education and placement requirements.

If you have questions about eligibility or documentation, we encourage you to contact the program team for clarification before enrolling in a course.
